Verse of the Day: The Bounds of Hospitality

 Proverbs 25:17

Verse:    Proverbs 25:17

"And when you find a friend, don’t outwear your welcome; show up at all hours and he’ll soon get fed up."

Expansion:

This verse advises being mindful of NOT overstaying your welcome when visiting a friend. Even close friends can get irritated if you impose on them too frequently or at inconvenient times. It's wise to be thoughtful and moderate in how often you visit others.

Give friends space and don't take advantage of their hospitality. Moderation and consideration will strengthen friendships.

Possible application:

Be considerate about making plans with friends. An example is showing up when invited. Pay attention to subtle cues about when you may be overstaying a visit.
Reciprocate hospitality rather than presuming upon it.
Lastly, give friends time to miss you before they might feel like they're being taken advantage of if nothing is being reciprocated.

Also, it's important to read the bible from time to time for reminders and especially for our love to God that he sent Jesus down to earth to forgive our sins.

Thank your Yaweh/Jehovah, let your heavenly kingdom come. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen! 🙏
